The 2027 Pacifica won't be difficult to distinguish from the previous model.Car and Driver reports that Chrysler reworked the minivan's appearance, giving it angular headlights connected by a light bar across the nose. Vertical lighting elements run down the fascia, while the redesigned grille features an illuminated Chrysler badge.
Changes continue around the back, where revised lighting gives the rear a fresh look that better matches the new front end. Eight new wheel designs provide buyers with additional ways to change the Pacifica's appearance. Inside, the automaker made minor trim revisions to give the cabin a more premium vibe.
There's only one engine choice, as Chrysler drops the Pacifica's plug-in hybrid. Every model now features the 287-hp 3.6-liter V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard; buyers can add all-wheel drive for $3,345.
With the proper gear, the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica can tow up to 3,600 pounds.
Front-wheel-drive models earn EPA ratings of 19 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined. Opting for all-wheel drive knocks a few mpg off those numbers.
This is where a minivan needs to earn its keep, and the Pacifica makes good use of the room available. Storage is spread throughout the cabin with cubbies, cupholders, and bins beneath the floor. Limited and Pinnacle trims feature taller center consoles that blend more closely into the dash for an SUV-like appearance.
The Pinnacle pushes the interior further upscale with quilted leather upholstery and matching lumbar pillows for second-row captain's chairs. (Those chairs are standard, although buyers can choose a bench instead.) Chrysler's Stow 'n Go system lets the seats fold into the floor when additional cargo room is needed.
The third row isn't reserved strictly for kids, either. There's enough space for adults to ride comfortably, making all three rows useful when the Pacifica needs every bit of space for passengers.
Chrysler equips the minivan with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and Uconnect 5. The system includes a customizable home screen, Amazon Alexa integration, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Families looking to keep the kids entertained can add a rear-seat entertainment system with two touchscreens. Amazon Fire TV is also available, allowing passengers to stream movies and shows via built-in apps.
There are plenty of places to plug in along the way too. The Pacifica can have as many as 12 USB ports distributed throughout the cabin, with USB-C connections providing faster charging.
